A casualty is bleeding heavily from a wound with nothing embedded in it. What should you do?
- ○Leave it to clot
- ✓Apply firm pressure to the wound, ideally with a clean pad
- ○Wash it with petrol
- ○Raise it and do nothing else

Apply firm direct pressure over the wound, and raise the limb if possible, to slow heavy bleeding (DR ABC / first aid).
